A Book for All Seasons opened in downtown Leavenworth on March 10, 1992. Pat and Ed Rutledge founded it after careers in writing and publishing in New York City. Pat Rutledge said they wanted the store positioned “not as a tourist attraction but as a serious bookstore in the larger community.”

Stephen and Donica own the store today. It is at 707 US Highway 2 in Chelan County, in the Wenatchee River valley on the east side of the Cascades. It sells new and used books: classics and literature, fiction and non-fiction for young and old. Washington Wide is now on its shelves.

Washington Wide is a 172-page hardcover of panoramic film photographs from 30+ years across Washington State, shot on Fuji Velvia 50. Randy Lewis, a Colville elder and storyteller, wrote the foreword. It is $59.99 at washingtonwide.com, with free shipping in the contiguous US.
