Ridgecrest Books sits at 512 NE 165th Street in the Ridgecrest neighborhood of Shoreline. It is a family-run new and used bookstore, open daily from 11 a.m. It carries titles for readers of all ages, plus puzzles and journals, and it hosts a monthly book club, children’s storytime and author readings.
Co-owners Becky Merilatt and Kevin Roberts opened the store in 2024. Both worked at Secret Garden Books, and Merilatt also worked at Elliott Bay Book Company, another store that carries Washington Wide. Ridgecrest Books is carrying it now.
Washington Wide is a 172-page hardcover of panoramic film photographs from 30+ years across Washington State, shot on Fuji Velvia 50. Randy Lewis, a Colville elder and storyteller, wrote the foreword. It is $59.99.
Lake Forest Park, Shoreline’s neighbor to the east, is the next stop. I’ll be at Third Place Books there on Thursday, November 19 at 7 p.m. with Randy.
